Fitchburg Police Department
WICouncil directed Flock discontinuation and a 90-day transition
On May 26, 2026, the Fitchburg Common Council adopted Resolution R-112-26 declaring its intent to discontinue the city’s Flock Safety ALPR services, subject to the existing agreement’s terms. The resolution sets a 90-day transition period from its adoption date.
The resolution says that if the agreement cannot be terminated before it expires, the city must remove all Flock ALPR cameras from active service and stop their use for data collection or querying during the remainder of that contract term. It also directs the city to evaluate alternative ALPR providers with different data-management, sharing, access-control, or contractual structures.
