California Governor Vetoes ALPR Privacy Bill Despite Mounting Evidence of Flock Misuse
California Governor Newsom vetoed SB 274, which would have imposed stricter privacy requirements on ALPR systems, despite mounting evidence of Flock Safety's unauthorized data sharing with federal and out-of-state agencies. Three states — Arkansas, Idaho, and Virginia — passed new ALPR laws in 2025.
