ILFlock shared data with CBP in violation of Illinois law; city called breach 'intentional and unauthorized'
An Illinois Secretary of State audit revealed Flock shared Evanston’s data with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in violation of Illinois law. The city characterized the breach as “intentional and unauthorized disclosure of protected data” that is “material, intentional, and cannot be cured.”
Flock challenged the termination and reinstalled cameras without authorization, prompting the city to issue a cease-and-desist order.
